About the Performer

Lü Yuanhan, born in 2004, is a young Chinese pianist. He studied under Associate Professor Yang Yang at the affiliated high school of Sichuan Conservatory of Music, completed his undergraduate degree at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg under Professor Alexander Schimpf, and is currently pursuing his master's degree at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin under Professor Kirill Gerstein.

With his innate musical perception and innovative artistic exploration, Lü Yuanhan has won the admiration of renowned musicians including Gautier Capuçon, Elisabeth Leonskaja, Joaquin Achucarro, and Momo Kodama.

At 17: his "distinctive personal style" made a sensation at both the Leipzig Bach International Competition and the Geneva International Piano Competition.

In 2022: he became the youngest laureate of the Gautier Capuçon Foundation that year.

In 2024: he received the Verbier Festival Soloist Academy Tabor Prize.

In 2025: he reached the Leipzig Bach Competition semifinals again, emerging as the most dazzling young face among the world's top nine.

He has performed at the Verbier Festival in Switzerland, the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival in Germany, Schloss Elmau in Germany, the Prussia Cove Open Chamber Music in the UK, Jordan Hall in Boston, The Henderson in Hong Kong, and the Monteverdi Club in Madrid, among other major international stages.
